Budget talks and move to the White House (AP)

WASHINGTON-efforts to draw up an agreement for a Government to cut spending while at the same time raising the debt limit to move into a new phase with President Barack Obama at the White House meeting with leaders of the Senate.

Obama is set to meet Monday morning with the Democratic leader, Senator Harry Reid and then in the afternoon with the Republican leader, Senator Mitch McConnell.

Talks between the leaders of the Congress of the House and the Senate reached an impasse last week on the issue of federal revenue. McConnell said "this week ABC" on Sunday that the proposals seeking greater tax revenues do not pass Congress.
