Swedish Govt approves sale of Saab's $ 40 mln property (AP)

Stockholm – automaker Saab received final government approval Thursday for the sale of 40 million dollars worth of properties that it hopes to inject enough money in your business, so you can restart production in a factory that has been inactive for months.

The Government was using the property as collateral to secure a loan for Saab from the European Investment Bank. Now agreed to count is no longer the property as collateral, allowing Saab to complete the sale of a share of 50.1 percent to Hemfosa real estate company. Saab plans to then rent the property back.

The sale includes Saab's Trollhattan plant, Southwestern Sweden, whose production was stopped for months because of a shortage of money left the company, struggling to pay suppliers and staff.

Saab on Thursday postponed the planned restart of production for the 9 August, citing the long lead times required by some providers and the vacation of two weeks planned for factory workers, beginning July 25.

Previously had said it hoped to resume production next week.

However, Swedish Saab Car-owner said it was "close to reach agreements with suppliers.

He also said that continues to seek more funding in the short term to be able to support production.

Swedish listed shares in Car plate Thursday at EUR 2.84 (4.08) at the Amsterdam stock exchange.
