Banks meet IIF in Rome for talks with Greece: source (Reuters)

Rome (Reuters)-international banks will hold a further round of talks on Thursday, aimed at finding a way to help rescue Greece's debt second after a previous French plan stalled.

Banks meet with lobbying group the Institute of International Finance (IIF) in Rome on Thursday, said a Treasury source.

Meeting of Thursday, follows similar talks, organized by the IIF in Paris on Wednesday in which "a menu of options" has been discussed to engage the private sector creditors on an aid package for Greece, according to Charles Dallara, Managing Director of Bank Hall.

Officials are trying to work out a solution that would allow private sector creditors to take part in a voluntary agreement that would not be defined as a default by rating agencies, but agreement is proving difficult.

A French proposal for a rollover in which bondholders would reinvest at least 70 percent of the proceeds from debentures maturing before the end of 2014 in Greek debt again met 30 years rating agency objections.

Officials are now looking at a wider range of options.

"There is going to be an exchange of views on developments so far and the solutions currently on the table for the involvement of private creditors," the source said.

"Various options will be discussed, not just a solution," added the source.

The meeting will be chaired by Vittorio Grilli, Director General of the Treasury, in his capacity as President of the economic and Financial Committee of the European Union.

There will be officials of the European Central Bank and the Greek Government, as well as Italian and international bank executives, the source said.

One EU source has also confirmed that the meeting will take place in Rome and EU representatives will not be present, however, no representative from any of the agencies should be in the rating.

On Thursday, the Dutch Finance Minister Jan Kees de Jager was quoted by the newspaper Het Financieele Dagblad as saying that banks in the private sector must be threatened to take part in a bailout as a voluntary agreement was unrealistic.

BoE keeps key interest rate to 0.5 per cent as expected (Reuters)

SUN VALLEY, Idaho (Reuters)-Live Nation Entertainment (LYV.N), the world's biggest concert promotions business, would benefit from a private account, according to the company's largest shareholder.

Entertainment cable TV Magnate John Malone said Live Nation, which is struggling with a weak economy of the United States following a drawn-out process of merger might turn around their business more effectively into private hands.

Yet this has not dissuaded Malone by doubling down on Live Nation, that he and his Lieutenant, Liberty Media CEO Greg Maffei, see as an opportunity of great value.

Malone, through his holding company Liberty Media, now has about 21 percent of float outstanding Live Nation according to a regulatory filing on 28 June.

The two largest shareholders are the Atlanta-based funds Shapiro Capital Management and New York-based Tiger Global Management, according to documents filed in March.

"It would probably be good for society to be private, for a period of time to settle down and consolidate operations," said Malone, speaking on the sidelines of the Conference Allen & Co for media, technology and financing deal-magnates.

Live Nation wasn't immediately available for comment.

Malone said it was important to get Live Nation working smoothly and generate predictable financial results.

"This would probably be improved if they were private. I'm sure that Irving, "said Malone.

"We expect inventory draws would require OPEC to increase production at the expense of spare capacity," Morgan Stanley said in a report. "We remain bullish on oil, especially in the second half."

Recommended investors buy Goldman Sachs the Brent December 2012 contract as global demand Outpaces production.

"We expect the market will continue to tighten to critical levels by 2012, pushing oil prices substantially higher to curb demand," Goldman said in a report.

Traders are also closely watching that June U.S. jobs data scheduled to be released on Friday.

In other Nymex trading in August contracts, heating oil rose 3 cents to $ 2.99 a gallon, while gasoline gained 2 cents to $ 3.00 a gallon. Natural Gas futures added 1 cent to $4,23 to 1,000 cubic meters.

Judge rejects bid for injunction against Amazon Apple (Reuters)

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters)-U.S. Judging the attempt of Apple Inc. refused to stop quickly Amazon.com Inc. dealer online by using the "App Store", a court document.

Kristin Huguet Apple spokesman Wednesday that the company's earlier statements that said Apple asked Amazon to do not copy the name of the App Store, because it will "confuse and mislead customers."

A representative of Amazon may not be immediately reached for comment.

In a previous judgment on Wednesday, Hamilton set a date for October 2012.

In the case of the United States District Court, Northern District of California is Apple Inc., Amazon.com Inc. v. 11-1327.
