Amazon to acquire British Book Depository (AFP)

WASHINGTON (AFP)-U.S. online retailer, Amazon.com announced Monday, will acquire the online British Library The Book Depository.

The cost of the transaction remains confidential.

The British company headquartered in Gloucester was chalked sales of 120 million pounds (135 million) for the fiscal year ending in June, according to the specialist TheBookseller.com.

The depositary of the book last year had an operating profit of £ 2.3 million, said TheBookseller.com.
